Please read through the entire page before submitting any reset options. It is crucial that you fully understand the available options to ensure you choose the one that best fits your needs. Some of the information on this page may help you resolve your issue without needing to reset anything. However, if a reset is necessary, understanding the options will help you avoid any potential issues. Take your time to review all the details carefully.
Faculty/Staff reset options: Please scroll to the bottom.
Any of the above options will also unlock locked accounts but will not re-enable accounts disabled due to multiple MFA failures. Please note that resetting your MFA and/or Password will require you to reconfigure them upon your next login. If you do not wish to reconfigure your MFA and/or Password and are sure you know the correct password and have valid MFA authenticators, you can wait 1 hour for your account to auto-unlock by the system. Please be aware that 10 unsuccessful login attempts will lock your account, so it is advisable to use the reset password option if you repeatedly experience unsuccessful logins. Additionally, student passwords will expire after 1 year, so your password may have expired.
MFA stands for Multi-Factor Authentication. It is a security feature that requires more than just a password to access your accounts. When resetting MFA, all your MFA settings will be cleared, and you'll need to set them up again the next time you log in.
MySTC MFA: MySTC (which is the same as OKTA) is used for accessing all STC resources through the MySTC Single Sign-On (SSO) service. With MySTC, you can log in once and gain access to all STC resources, including Office 365 services.
Office 365 MFA: Although your primary access to Office 365 services (like Outlook(Email), Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneDrive) is managed through MySTC, Office 365 itself might occasionally prompt you for its own MFA.
Key Points:If a password reset is selected, you will be given a randomly generated secure password that you will use to login to MySTC.
Please be advised that you will be required to change this password upon your next login.
For your security, consider the following tips when creating your new password:
Please ensure that you enter your credentials correctly when accessing MySTC. Your username should be your Student ID followed by "@students.southeasterntech.edu". For example, a valid student username would be 910012345@students.southeasterntech.edu. If this is your first time logging into MySTC, you will need to activate your account. Please refer to the instructional video below to guide you through this process.
